PONTELAND United's rich vein of form continued as they defeated Wallington on Saturday afternoon.
Dean Gallagher scored in the 40th minute of the Northern Alliance Premier Divison match, which took place at Ponteland High School.
Ethan Bewley doubled their advantage in the 65th minute, as Ponteland won 2-0 to move to within five points of league leaders Newcastle Blue Star. However, the latter have three games in hand over United.
It was one of few games which went ahead on a stormy Saturday. There were postponements for other Northern Alliance sides Prudhoe YC Seniors, Hexham, and Haltwhistle Jubilee.
