TODAY'S derby clash between Ponteland United and Wallington has gone ahead.
The two Northern Alliance Premier Division sides kicked off at 1.30pm, at Ponteland High School.
However, the match is one of very few of this afternoon's sporting fixtures across the district which has survived Storm Dennis.
In Northern Alliance Division One, matches between Prudhoe YC Seniors and Red Row Welfare, and Hexham v Rothbury, have both been postponed.
The Division Two clash between Newcastle Blue Star Reserves and Haltwhistle Jubilee has also fallen foul of the weather.
In rugby union, Tynedale's National League Division Two North match at Huddersfield has been cancelled.
