FOUR goals from Sam Moore helped Prudhoe YC Seniors on their way to a 7-1 victory over basement side Felling Magpies in Northern Alliance Division One.

But despite a prolific afternoon, Moore was beaten to the man of the match honour by David Burns, who assisted six of his side’s seven goals.

Moore was through one-one-one with the goalkeeper on seven minutes, but his effort sailed past the far post.

But on the quarter hour mark, Brad Rogers made the breakthrough for Prudhoe when he converted with a fine side-footed finish from 25 yards, following a lay-off from Burns.

On 22 minutes, it was 2-0. Harry Mitchell supplied Darren Graham down the right and his low cross was finished by Ste Forster.

Moore netted his first goal on 27 minutes, after the ball was played to his feet by Burns.

The latter was floored in the penalty area shortly afterwards, and Rogers made no mistake with the spot kick to make it 4-0 at half time.

On 49 minutes, a magnificent solo run from Burns saw him drift past two defenders, before supplying Moore with ammunition to score his second.

Just three minutes later, a Burns shot was saved by the keeper, but Moore was on hand to bury the rebound.

He wasn’t satisfied with a hat-trick, however, and on 79 minutes, Moore ran on to a Burns through ball to make it 7-0.

Felling scored a consolation from a memorable 25-yard effort on 80 minutes, which gave Prudhoe keeper Thomas White no chance of saving.
