TWO Tynedale rugby teams will fight for a place in the finals of the Northern League Cup next month.
The club’s Panthers’ U18 and U15 girls’ teams will both play in the semi-finals of their respective competitions on February 9.
The U18s will meet Old Crossleyans, of Halifax, at their Corbridge base, while the U15 team face an away trip to Yorkshire to face Pontefract.
Tynedale’s girls’ teams at all levels have seen a huge surge in membership, and many of the teams past and present members have gone on to represent their country.
Lead coach for the club, Nick Oliver, said: “Women’s and girls’ rugby in general is really seeing a rise in interest.
“We have seen our own numbers increase dramatically over the last few years with more than 450 members across all of our teams.”
