WALLINGTON had to settle for a second successive draw in Northern Alliance Premier Division.

The Greens welcomed Percy Main Amateurs to Oakford Park for what was only their second home fixture in the league since September 7.

It was a meeting of two sides who have developed quite a rivalry over the years. However, both teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

It was a frustrating afternoon for Wallington, who enjoyed their fair share of possession, but were unable to add a second goal to Thomas Truscott’s opener.

Nevertheless, the Greens are sitting comfortably in ninth place, despite a difficult winter of postponements due to the weather.

They have only played 11 Premier Division fixtures, and have several games in hand over some of the teams above them.

Wallington are on the road this Saturday. They will travel to 12th placed North Shields Athletic for another league encounter.

The club announced that Ben Culling had left the club after four years, during which he made over 80 appearances.
