LAST weekend was a proud one for players and coaches at Tynedale Rugby Club.
Youngsters from the club represented both Northumberland and Newcastle Falcons at U18 level.
Tynedale Colts Tom Dryden and Jack Donaldson played in the county game between Northumberland and Cheshire.
While Northumberland lost the U18 encounter 32-10 at Penrith on Saturday, it was an entertaining game for those watching from the sidelines.
There was a more uplifting result for their Tynedale Colts teammates Ollie Fletcher and Ben Robson, who played for the Newcastle Falcons U18 Academy against Sale Sharks, on Sunday.
After trailing 3-17 at half time, the young Falcons went on to win 29-22.
This was the third in a series of six academy games, with the Falcons defeating Wasps 42-24 and losing away to Leicester 19-0.
The three remaining fixtures are away to Worcester on January 19, away to Yorkshire Carnegie on January 25, and Northampton away on February 8.
