BEN Alnwick has returned to the North-East to train with his former club Sunderland.
The Prudhoe-born goalkeeper has left League One club Bolton Wanderers.
The 32-year-old has not been part of the first team picture at the Macron Stadium this season, and his contract has been cancelled by mutual consent.
Alnwick made 19 appearances for Sunderland between 2004 and 2007.
