IT is all to play for in the Hexham and District Sunday League as the second half of the season prepares to get under way.

With both divisions currently touch tight, the race for individual honours is equally as close as the district’s players aim to clinch the coveted top goalscorer award.

Last season’s leading marksman Dan Kirkup is gearing towards retaining his crown and has 11 league goals for champions Bardon Mill Bowes Lyons to his name.

Crawcrook Fox and Hounds’ leading scorer Lee Peacock is tied at the top after finding the back of the net 11 times, although his team have played one extra game.

Haltwhistle playmaker Jack Barker is third in the charts with a total of eight goals, one ahead of Kirkup’s Mill teammate Thomas Wilkie.

There are six players on four goals for the term, those being Prudhoe Town duo Brad Rogers and Ste Forster, Crawcrook’s Ben Coulson, Bardon Mill’s Rob Hayes and Heddon pair Dan Walker and Mark Richardson.

In Division Two, Kieran Robley, who topped the chart when his side Haydon Bridge Social Club were last in the division in 2016-2017, is leading the way with a current total of 14 league strikes. He is just one ahead of Brennan Turner, of league leaders Crawcrook Social Club.

Wark feature heavily in the top five with Will Forsyth in third on 12 goals, just ahead of teammate Liam Anderson who has 11 to his name. Aaron Hardy, of Haydon Bridge, makes up the top five with 10.
