ENTRIES are open for a badminton tournament which will take place at Ponteland Leisure Centre on Saturday, January 11.
The men’s doubles competition is for players aged 14 or over, and is set to include competitors who are currently involved with local leagues, as well as those who have represented the county.
The eagerly-anticipated event is being hosted by Active Northumberland, working alongside badminton coach Phil Hall.
There will be at least 16 pairs in the competition, which will be contested using plastic shuttles.

Phil has enjoyed an impressive year. His after-school coaching set-up at Ponteland has led to several youngsters excelling at both county and national level.
The popular sessions are set to go from strength-to-strength in the New Year.
