BREAKING NEWS: Saturday's match between HALTWHISTLE JUBILEE and HEXHAM has been postponed.

FOUR of the district’s Northern Alliance sides will go head-to-head in the final weekend of football before Christmas.

Division Two Haltwhistle Jubilee will host Hexham in the Reeves Independent George Dobbins League Cup on Saturday, while Prudhoe YC Seniors travel to Scots Gap to take on Wallington in the same competition.

Haltwhistle will be eager to return to action after their league clash with Cramlington last weekend was called off due to a waterlogged pitch at the Burn, while Division One Hexham will be keen to return to winning ways after their 2-2 draw at Rothbury.

The two sides previously met in the Clayton Cup final back in August, when Haltwhistle won the season’s curtain raiser.

At Oakford Park, Premier Division side Wallington are set to provide a stern test for Prudhoe YC Seniors, who currently sit second in Division Two.

l Hexham will host Prudhoe in the quarter-finals of the Northumberland FA Minor Cup, while Haltwhistle will travel to Newcastle University A. Both ties will be played on February 8.
