DIVISION Two leaders Crawcrook Social Club picked up a vital three points as they inflicted a first league defeat on their championship rivals.

They thumped third placed Ryton 5-1 as Dean Hendry, Ross Thompson, David Mitchell and Jack Henderson registered, to go with an own goal. Josh Banks starred for the hosts.

Unbeaten Ryton, best served by Kieron Priestley, had taken the lead through Anthony Scott, but things quickly turned sour.

Wark, still to lose in league competition, remain one point behind as two goals from Will Forsyth saw him haunt former club Barrasford.

He was joined on the scoresheet by teammate Liam Anderson while Nick MacNeil was man of the match, with Craig Stanners named star man for Barra.

Haydon Bridge Social Club closed the gap on third placed Ryton as they thumped bottom side Stamfordham United 8-0.

Aaron Hardy and Tom Anderson both scored two, with man of the match Darren Dobson, Kieran Robley, Liam Crowe and Owen Hogg also registering.

Joe Shepherd scored two goals against former club Hexham Hearts to help new side Hexhamshire to a 4-0 victory.

Matty Percival and Jordan Dodwell also scored, with Luke Winter impressing for Shire. Macauly Fawcett impressed for Hearts.

Matthew Smith and Nathan Moore scored the goals which earned Wylam Black Bull a 2-0 triumph over Crawcrook Rising Sun. Michael Williams was named Wylam’s top performer, with Andrew Wright earning Crawcrook’s equivalent.

In the only game in Division One to be completed, two goals from Will Hedley helped Heddon St Andrew’s to a 5-2 victory over Crawcrook Fox and Hounds.

Dan Ramshaw and Mark Richardson also scored, while a Crawcrook defender put the ball in his own net, and Gaz Howarth was star man.

Man of the match Rikki Kent and Lewis Eagle netted for Fox.

The game between Prudhoe Town and Mickley Social Club was abandoned after half hour due to a serious injury sustained by a Mickley player.
