HEXHAM’S first team have endured a tough season so far in Northumbria Division Two.

Following a 5-0 defeat at Sunderland however, they bounced back at home to top of the table side Benwell Hill.

Fielding their strongest team, Hexham raced into a 2-0 lead with impressive performances from Jeremy Philipson and the ever-reliable Andrew Wilkinson, both taking comfortable 3-0 victories.

Adrian Alderton struggled to contain his fast opponent Jamie Pitchford and went down 3-1 in four close games.

Returning from injury, Damon Watts sealed the match with an impressive 3-0 win against Phil White. Captain Paul Satow was unable to make an impression on Mike Bridgwater, but the overall victory enabled Hexham to climb out of the relegation zone.

Hexham’s second team in Division Four have suffered a few injury problems and failed to get a win under their belt in November.

However, against Consett II there were strong performances from Guy Jepson and Tim Anderson, but captain Kristen Mckluskie, was just pipped 15-14, enabling Consett to take the match 3-2.

Hexham’s third team in Division Six were undefeated in November with some strong performances by younger players Luke Radley, Max Dolan and Robert Chesney.

They followed up wins against Boldon and Tynemouth with a solid 4-1 victory at Jesmond V. Chesney won comfortably 3-0 and fast-improving junior Radley took a close 3-1 win. Tim Anderson returned from injury to win 3-1. The ever-reliable Phil Langley came back from two games down to secure a 3-2 victory.
