PONTELAND Blacks enjoyed a five star first half against Throckley Magpies.
They scored five goals in the opening 30 minutes, with the prolific Joseph Nicholson putting Throckley to the sword.
The visitors pulled a goal back shortly before half time, but Nicholson netted again in the second period.
Ryan Statham just pipped fellow midfielder Wes Scott to the man of the match award.
Ponteland Munich suffered a 4-2 defeat to Cleveland Hall Yellows, despite a Joseph Nicholson double.
Nicholson struck twice after Ponteland went a goal down, and his side continued to attack in the second half.
But they couldn’t add to their advantage, and home side Cleveland equalised, before running out winners with two late goals.
Ponteland’s man of the match was Omar Tumia.
