THREE of the district’s Northern Alliance teams have booked their places in the quarter-finals of the Northumberland Minor Cup.
Division Two side Haltwhistle Jubilee were the biggest winners on Saturday, defeating Division One Rothbury 8-1.
The Jubes put in a fine performance in front of their own supporters at the Burn. After leading 1-0 at half time, courtesy of Dion Parker’s first goal of the season, they went goal crazy in the second half.
Callum James netted twice, while man of the match Jack Barker, Greg Irwin, Thomas Wilkie, and Ashley Lally all got in on the act. There was also a Rothbury own goal as Haltwhistle cruised their way to victory.
Manager Cameron Bell praised the attitude and commitment of his 14-man squad.
