ONE of the district’s popular obstacle running events has a new charity partner.
Challenge Northumberland, organisers of the Mad March Mare, has confirmed that North-East charity NE Youth, based in Newcastle, is their chosen beneficiary for 2020.
Jon Niblo, chief executive of NE Youth, said: “We are delighted and thankful to be invited to be the charity partner.
“This is our 85th anniversary year and will provide us with a platform to raise our profile and promote our work.
“We have an excellent relationship with Challenge Northumberland and look forward to collaborating on the event.”
The Mad March Mare will take place at Hexham Racecourse on February 29. Participants will complete a mud run while navigating 30 obstacles.
Prudhoe-based IR Cleaning Services will sponsor next year’s event. The firm’s Richie Armstrong said: “We are delighted to be the main sponsor for the 2020 Mad March Mare. Seeing lots of people having fun, getting wet and muddy and raising money for worthy charities brings a huge feel good factor.”
