TWO teenage brothers represented the district at a kickboxing event in Rochdale.
Callum and Owen Beeckmans, of Prudhoe, competed in the Battle of the North, which saw them take on leading competitors in their respective categories.
Owen (13) won his 52.5kg light contact bout, against an opponent from Yorkshire, and performed impressively to claim an early victory.
Callum (16) went the full distance in his 63.5kg bout, also against a Yorkshire opponent, and lost narrowly on points after five rounds.
Despite the defeat, Callum has enjoyed an impressive two years in both kickboxing, and mixed martial arts (MMA).
Both brothers are highly rated.
