YOUTH TEAM
Tynedale Cricket Club U15: County cup winners and county league runners-up. The team qualified for the regional stages of a national competition, and finished in the top 16 nationwide.
Tynedale Rugby Club U15: Some of the club’s youngsters have represented Northumberland, and been selected for the Newcastle Falcons Academy Under 15 squad.
Tynedale Rugby Club Colts U18: Secured a cup double, winning the 15-a-side Northumberland County Colts Cup, and also the Northumberland County Colts Sevens Cup.
KEY STAGE 2 SCHOOL U11
Hexham Sele First School Year 3 tennis: County champions and finished third in the regional finals, two places higher than the previous year.
Ovingham Year 5 & 6 girls’ cricket: West Northumberland and overall county champions, while a B team from the school won the West Northumberland B group.
Prudhoe Highfield Middle School U11 boys’ football: Capped an impressive season when they were crowned county cup champions.
KEY STAGE 3 SCHOOL U14
Hexham Middle School rugby: Both male and female teams from the school were successful in the Newcastle Thunder Cup, despite losing key players in their respective finals due to a school trip to France.
Ponteland High U14 badminton: Competed at the National Schools Badminton Finals as regional winners.
Ponteland Richard Coates girls’ rugby: Competed in national finals at Warrington, while some of the girls have become Young Leaders which enables them to coach and officiate.
Participation levels in girls’ rugby have increased considerably.
Ovingham Middle Year 7 & 8 cricket: West Northumberland and overall county champions at both indoor and outdoor cricket.
Ovingham Middle U13 boys’ football: Capped an impressive year by winning the World Schools Football Cup.
Highfield Middle U13 girls’ netball: Won a local league before being crowned county champions.
