HEXHAM and District Sunday League champions Bardon Mill were made to work hard, but a slender victory over Heddon St Andrew’s sent them into pole position.

Up against a well organised visiting side marshalled well by man of the match centre half Connor Ballantyne, Mill struggled to break down their opponents for most of the game.

However, goals from Thomas Wilkie and Dan Kirkup, and a star display from Mark Robson, saw the hosts take all three points to see them leapfrog the frontrunners in Division One.

Jack Henderson was on fire for frontrunners Crawcrook Social Club as his hat-trick helped his side in their pursuit of the Division Two title.

The man of the match was joined on the scoresheet by David Mitchell and Adam Taylor in the 5-2 triumph over Barrasford, with the visitors’ star man Marc Nixon and Hamish Forsyth finding the back of the net.

Wark came from behind to come away from Hexhamshire with a 4-1 victory.

After James Pervical had given Shire the lead, Wark fought back and wrapped up the three points courtesy of goals from man of the match Liam Anderson, Will Forsyth, Harry Davidson and Andy Hall. Martin Havery impressed for Hexhamshire.

Haydon Bridge Social Club had three players scoring trebles as they thumped Stamfordham United 12-0.

Man of the match Kieran Robley, Aaron Hardy and Liam Crowe all found the back of the net on three occasions, with brothers Steven and Jason Arnup and Owen Hogg also adding their names to the scoresheet.
