PRUDHOE & Stocksfield rugby players will be itching to get back into action after successive postponements.

P&S haven’t played since their impressive 46-5 victory over Jarrovians on October 5.

But the club is hoping a trip to Richmond in Durham and Northumberland League III, on November 9, will mark a welcome return to the fold.

Back row Yannick Debil said: “We haven’t had a game for a while due to availability. We had to cancel games against Houghton and West Hartlepool TDSOB but we are back in action against Richmond.”

The club is on the lookout for new players to add depth to the first team squad, and also the increase competition for places.

Debil added: “We have aspirations to grow and develop both as a team and as a club.

“If you’re a rugby player in the North-East region, looking to play first team rugby in the National Leagues with a great bunch of lads, then please get in touch.”

P&S were founded in 1982 as Prudhoe Hospital RUFC. They became known as P&S in 1998 when the club moved to their present home at Stocksfield Sportsfield.

The team trains every Thursday from 7pm to 9pm, with league fixtures on Saturdays followed by social events. For more information contact the Prudhoe and Stocksfield RUFC page on Facebook.

The club is supported by the New Ridley Road Garage, Ceres Energy, and Caris Robson Solicitors.
