NOMINATIONS have opened for this year’s Sport Tynedale Awards.
Preparations are well under way for this year’s event, which will take place at Hexham’s Wentworth Leisure Centre in December.
People are now being encouraged to nominate sporting individuals, teams, and coaches from across the district for their achievements over the past 12 months.
But the window for nominations is only open until Monday, October 28.
The Sport Tynedale Awards have been a key event on the district’s sporting calendar for over 45 years.
The voluntary-led Sport Tynedale not only recognises success within local amateur sport, but also enables the people involved to apply for grant funding.
As always, there will be a wide range of categories at the awards evening, from club of the year to adult team, youth team, and awards for school teams in different age groups.
There will be an award for young volunteer of the year, sports personality, and coach of the year, among other honours, which include the prestigious sportsman, young sportsman, sports woman and young sports woman of the year awards. To nominate an individual or team, email kathie.keady@northumberland.org.uk. More information can be found at sport-tynedale.co.uk.
