SIMON Weatherley was in fine form as his four goals helped Prudhoe Town progress in the Northumberland FA Sunday Cup.

Capping a man of the match display, his haul inspired Town’s 8-3 victory on the road at Benwell Sports, with Brad Rogers scoring two and Adam Bell and Lee Edwards one each.

A hat-trick from Thomas Wilkie, on top of singles from Dan Kirkup, Jamie Ellwood and Mark Robson, saw Bardon Mill Bowes Lyons defeat North Shields Billy Mill 6-2. The Hexham Sunday League champions were also indebted to a man of the match display from goalkeeper Thomas Craney.

In league action, Division One leaders Crawcrook Fox and Hounds maintained their 100 per cent start to the campaign with a 6-4 win at Heddon St Andrew’s.

Leading marksman Lee Peacock hit a treble, man of the match Ben Coulson two and Joe Meadows the other, with Heddon’s goals coming from man of the match Jordan Carling, Jamie Lishman, Sean Hownam and Mark Richardson.

Riding Mill and Mickley Social Club shared four goals, with Dale Graham and Kevin Rogerson on target for Mill, who were best served by Phil Robinson. For Mickley, man of the match Scott Fothergill and Anthony Porter registered.

Crawcrook Social Club’s impressive start in Division Two continued with a 6-2 victory over Haydon Bridge Social Club.

Brennan Turner scored twice and he was joined on the scoresheet by star man Jack Henderson, Micky Bilcough, Ross Thompson and Calvin Payne.

A single Aaron Smith strike was enough to earn Hexham Hearts, who had Anthony Brown impressing, all three points against a Hexhamshire side best served by Martin Havery.

Wylam Black Bull took full advantage of their guests Stamfordham United only having nine men by hitting double figures.

A double from man of the match Calum Armstrong and strikes from Tony Lancaster saw Hexham Phoenix defeat Haltwhistle Railway 4-0 in the John Pickworth Cup. Paul Wilson starred for Haltwhistle.

Goals from star man Ryan Potts and Liam Anderson saw Wark progress in the President’s Cup as they defeated Crawcrook Rising Sun, best served by Callum Carter, 2-0.
