ANOTHER undefeated double century from skipper Tim Raglan has guided Allendale to promotion.

Raglan was 206 not out as the Allen Valleys outfit got the better of Whitley Bay in a play-off match on Sunday.

It means the ambitious club will compete in Division Three next season, just a year after they withdrew from the West Tyne League to join the Northumberland & Tyneside League.

Raglan has been instrumental throughout a successful season for Allendale, as they finished third in Division Four.

But he has saved his best for the past fortnight. He scored a phenomenal 266 not out against Clara Vale on the final day of the league season, and followed it up with another fine innings of 206, with 14 sixes and 18 fours from just 137 balls.

His brother Jack Raglan was Allendale's second top scorer, with 27, as they finished on 340-4 from 50 overs.

Whitley Bay responded well, with Steven Kirk scoring 113 before he was bowled by Mohammed Zeeshan Tahir.

Allendale's bowlers were on top form, however. Tom Scott took 2-27 while vice-captain Liam Pringle claimed 4-36, as Whitley Bay were restricted to 267-9.

There were individual wickets for Zeeshan Tahir, Jake Reed, and Terry Sparke; a catch for Rhys Scott, and three catches for star man Raglan.
