A HAT-TRICK apiece for Gary Cook and Louis Calvert ensured Ponteland United made it through to the second round of the Reeves Independent George Dobbins League Cup.
United won 6-0 at home against Whitburn & Cleadon in a dominant performance, which followed on from their 3-1 victory over Alnwick Town in the Northern Alliance Premier Division, the previous week.
Ponteland are in cup action again on Saturday, when they travel to North Shields Athletic, in the Team Valley Carpets Challenge Cup.
Northern Alliance Development Division side Ponteland United Reserves are also into the second round of the league cup.
They travelled to face Newcastle University A, and returned with a 2-1 victory against a side in the division above them.
Toy Spratt and John Lancaster scored the goals, while Spratt was named man of the match.
Ponteland Reserves return to league action on Saturday, when they will entertain Swalwell. The reserves are top of the Development Division after nine games.
