HALTWHISTLE Jubilee roared their way to the top of Northern Alliance Division Two with a rampant 5-0 win over AFC Newbiggin.

The Jubes have made a superb start to life in the Northern Alliance, winning six of their opening seven league fixtures.

And on Saturday, they made light work of their closest challengers Newbiggin, who had also won six games prior to kick off.

A sizeable crowd gathered at the Burn, where Haltwhistle impressed from start to finish. A Jack Barker goal, and a brace from Callum James put the home side three up at half time.

Liam Crowe scored his first for the Jubes after half time, before Barker’s second goal of the game rounded off the scoring.

Skipper Mark Robson was named man of the match. Manager Cameron Bell thanked supporters for turning out in numbers.
