PUTTING five past Hebburn Town U23 saw Prudhoe Youth Club Seniors extend their unbeaten start to three games.

Sam Moore added to his opening day hat-trick to slam home two goals, and he was joined on the scoresheet by Brad Rogers, Luke Banks and Jack Gunn in the 5-1 triumph.

Moore had Prudhoe two goals to the good in the opening half hour as he sent home the opener after six minutes and then converted Kieran Russel’s flick on.

Rogers maintained his success rate from the penalty spot before the break after Luke Banks was fouled in the area.

Man of the match Banks added the fourth after the break as he finished off a great team move, and then Gunn rounded off Prudhoe’s scoring with a neat finish.

A lapse in concentration in defence denied Prudhoe a clean sheet as Hebburn managed a consolation with 15 minutes to go.

They were cursing conceding a late equaliser to Rothbury in midweek, their opponents netting in the final five minutes during the 2-2 draw.

Rothbury started on the front foot and had the better of the first half, going into the break 1-0 ahead after opening the scoring on 15 minutes.

But Prudhoe improved dramatically after the break and edged ahead after being awarded two penalties.

Rogers stepped up on both occasions, following fouls on Darren Graham and Banks, and kept his composure to put Prudhoe 2-1 to the good.

However, both teams ended with a point after Bedlington’s late goal.
