TYNEDALE Harriers were singing in the rain at Hexham’s Wentworth Leisure Centre - after winning their battle against relegation.
Members of the Hexham-based club excelled in torrential downpours to secure enough points to survive in the North of England Harriers’ League Division 3E.
Tynedale were the host club on Saturday, when rival clubs from across the region headed to Wentworth.
Second bottom of the division at the start of the day, Tynedale needed to achieve 140 points or more.
But with members of all ages turning out to compete in a wide range of track and field events, they more than doubled their points target.
Tynedale scored a whopping total of 363 to win the event, and to finish in fourth place overall.
