AN outstanding score of 71-9=62 from Stephen Plemper won him the Elliott Tankard at Tynedale Golf Club in Hexham.

The club captain was the overall winner, and also took the lowest gross score prize.

He finished ahead of runner-up Terry Lee on 79-15=64, and third placed Norman Nichols (81-16=65).

Division One of the men’s July medal at Tynedale went to Mike Stonehouse (77-10=67). Second was Tony Hornsby (76-7=69), while Jamie McNamee was third with (84-13=71).

Colin Varty was the Division Two winner with a score of 86-20=66. Runner-up was Lee Monnelly on 85-17=68, while Mike Jackson was third with 87-18=69.

The ladies’ rose bowl competition at Tynedale was won by Rita Barber with 34 stableford points.

It was closely contested, with Lynne Graham second with 33 points, and Angela Gilhespy a point further behind in third place.

Gary Brown won the Prudential Trophy at Tynedale with 42 points, on countback from second placed Lee Monnelly.

A point further back, in third place, was Mike Jackson on 41 points.

Sally Weir won the ladies’ July medal with a score of 93-21=72. Rita Barber was second (94-19=75).
