PRUDHOE YC Magpies U10 have enjoyed a remarkable season in the Pin Point Junor League.

After gaining promotion to the Champions League, the side finished runners-up to renowned winners Newcastle Benfield, and also won two cup competitions.

The Magpies, who are now preparing for U11 football next season, have been named Team of the Week.

Canoeist Anna-Louise Glendenning is enjoying her time on the water once again.

A dislocated elbow saw her sit out much of last season, but now the Hexham Canoe Club member is making up for lost time.

Last weekend, Glendenning gained promotion to the national Premier Division thanks to an impressive first place performance at Chapel Falls in Wales. The victory saw Glendenning named Star of the Week.

A special mention goes to Stocksfield golfer Chris Paisley, following his second successive impressive performance on the European Tour in Belgium, and also to rugby star Tom Marshall, who made his debut for Scotland U20 against South Africa on Tuesday.

Newcaste Falcons player Marshall played for Tynedale last season on a dual contract basis.
