FOUR local referees were selected to officiate the Northumberland Reeves Independent Fair Play Trophy match between Lowick United and Wallsend Rosehill Tavern.
Nick Vincent refereed the match, which took place at Whitley Park, at Benton in Newcastle.
He was assisted by Ian Crowley and Phil Sim, while Colin Smith was the fourth official.
All four are members of the Hexham Branch of the Northumberland Referees Association.
Nick said: “This was the Fair Play Trophy final, and neither of the sides had received a yellow card all season.
“It was a competitive game played in good spirits. One yellow card was given for a tackle, and because of the players’ exemplary record in terms of discipline all season, it was greeted with cheers.”
The match, which Lowick won 6-1, was a coup for the Hexham branch.
