A TREBLE from the prolific striker Dan Kirkup made it three trophies for the season for the dominant Bardon Mill Bowes Lyons.

Kirkup, who finished top of the Hexham and District Sunday League's goalscoring charts with 20 league goals, again showed his ruthless side in front of goal as he scored all of Mill's goals in their 3-1 victory over Hexham Phoenix in the Presidents Cup final.

Trailing to a goal from Phoenix's star man Lewis Loughhead, Kirkup kick-started the comeback when he levelled with a strike on 26 minutes. He was at it again just before the break, another goal edging Mill 2-1 ahead.

The striker capped a man of the match display when he produced his third of the morning with 15 minutes remaining, ensuring the Presidents Cup joined the trophies for the Division One title and the John Pickworth Cup.

One game remains in the Sunday League season with Division One rivals Mickley Social Club and Crawcrook Fox and Hounds contesting the Craig McDonald Memorial Trophy at Newburn Leisure Centre on Sunday.
