AN IMPRESSIVE performance from Ponteland United Rapids wasn’t enough as they lost to Morpeth in the Pin Point U10s cup final.
In what was a tightly contested affair, Morpeth Town Warriors edged the match 4-2 despite promising attacking play from Ponteland throughout.
As Ponteland brought the game back to 3-2, the team were looking to equalise and take the tie into extra time but a fourth goal for Morpeth took the game away from them.
Thursday’s cup final disappointment was short lived though, as the Rapids bounced back to beat Cullercoats in the league on Sunday.
Coach, Gary Blythe, praised the Rapids’ achievement on reaching the cup final.
