HEXHAM Greens U18 have enjoyed a successful run under the guidance of coach Andy Turnbull. 

They bowed out of junior football with a 4-2 win over title-chasing Cramlington Town in the Pin Point Junior League Division One.

The performance saw Hexham Greens U18 named Team of the Week. 

Hexham golfer Matty Lamb shot rounds of 70 and 63 to win the prestigious Hampshire Hog Open, an amateur title with a list of previous winners including Sandy Lyle and Justin Rose. 

Lamb, who beat Rose's previous seocnd round total of 65, was named Star of the Week. 

Special mention also goes to Allendale crickets Tom Scott and Tom Raglan. 

Fifteen-year-old Scott marked his outstanding Allendale debut with 148 runs, and bowling figures of 6-30, against Stobswood Welfare in the Northumberland and Tyneside League. 

In the same match Allendale skipper Raglan scored a remarkable 260 runs. 

Local duathletes Derek and Rosemary Todhunter, and Brendon and Claire Jackson, have all earned Great Britain call-ups, and their performances are also worthy of a special mention.
