TYNESIDE Amateur League champions Haltwhistle Jubilee ended their league campaign with a 3-1 defeat at Morpeth Town Seniors.
They were 2-0 down at half time, before Reece Thirtle scored a header during a much improved second half performance for the Jubes. As Haltwhistle pushed for an equaliser, Morpeth scored a late third goal.
Haltwhistle, who were confirmed as league champions the previous week, will now aim to complete a league and cup double.
They will play Gosforth Bohemian Reserves on Saturday, in the final of the Tyneside Amateur Shield. Kick off is at 2pm, at Newcastle Benfield.
