HEXHAM Greens U18 marked their last game in junior football with a 4-2 win.

The Tynedale side travelled to title-chasing Cramlington Town, who needed three points to secure Pin Point Junior League Division One title.

However, the away side started on the front foot from the first whistle, and took the lead 15 minutes in after an astute Tom Lewis finish. The end-to-end game saw both teams create chances, but it was Hexham who would score again after Lewis found the net from 20 yards out. A Cramlington goal didn’t deter the team spirit though, as the team rallied together for Hexham to score a third through Olly James later in the game.

A third goal from Lewis sealed his hat-trick and took the game out of Cramlington’s reach. A second from Cramlington didn’t deter the Hexham defence, who held out for a 4-2 victory. Head coach, Andy Turnbull, said the team could be proud of their final junior performance. He said: “Every Hexham player could walk off with their heads held high. They all have been excellent ambassadors for Hexham Junior Football Club.”
