A LEGEND of snooker will rub shoulders with local players and supporters of the game in Hexham on Wednesday night.

Cliff Thorburn will return to the town's Albert Edward Club, following a successful previous visit to the venue, last October.

He will play a series of exhibition matches, and will also demonstrate a few specialist trick shots, before opening the floor to questions and answers.

Thorburn, who defeated Alex ‘Hurricane’ Higgins to win the 1980 world championship, will recall stories from his playing days.

The event is already a sell-out.
