HUNDREDS of walkers and runners took on the Allendale Challenge as the event celebrated its 30th anniversary.
But while most competitors were happy to complete the gruelling 25-mile course once, one man was determined to run it twice.
Steven Blair, who is manager of the Twice Brewed Inn, near Bardon Mill, has an appetite for endurance events, and is currently in training for the Spartan Peak Death Race, in America, in September.
He said: “I didn’t run the Allendale Challenge twice to show off, I did it because I needed to step up my training for what will be the toughest event I’ll ever do, in America.”
The Spartan Peak Race will involve all-night treks, rope pulls, and a 12-hour crawl under barbed wire.
