WYLAM Rockettes U12 Eagles drew 1-1 in their top of the table clash against Newcastle East End in the Northumberland Girls’ League.

East End took the lead before Emily Dodgeon, picking up the ball in midfield, weaved her way through the defence before firing home the equaliser.

The Eagles were indebted to some strong tackling from Millie Armstrong and some great saves from Lois Hamilton.

Wylam Rockets U12 Falcons won 3-0 in a physical encounter against Whitley Bay. Isla Dalby’s defending kept Whitley Bay’s strong striker out, while Eve Huddleston, Amelie Scott, and Freya Neal all scored.

Wylam Rockettes U14 played their return fixture against Hexham, and lost 2-1 in an entertaining game which saw Molly Pigg grabbed a consolation goal.

Wylam Rockettes U14 played Ponteland United and were 1-0 winners, with Pigg again scoring. The U14 also lost 6 -1 at home to Newcastle Benfield. Stand-in goalkeeper Georgina Harland was Wylam’s girl of the Game, while the ever-consistent Pigg again found the target.

Despite missing several players, Wylam Rockettes U16 defeated Bedlington Town 3-0 away from home, in their best performance of the season.

All three goals came courtesy of Josie Fenwick. The U16s followed this up with an 8-0 win in their home fixture against Westgate Juniors, with with girl of the game Fenwick scoring a hat-trick.

Lucy Grainger scored twice, while Leah Daniels, Sally Watson and Eve Cuncliffe also found the target.

Wylam Rockettes U18 Real lost 7-4 at home to Montagu & North Fenham in another entertaining match.

There was a hat-trick for Sophie Rodgers and a superb passing move finished in style by Annie Spragg.

With 10 minutes to play it was 5-4, and Emma Boarden’s firm strike was well saved to prevent Real from equalising.

Wylam Rockettes U18 United rounded off their league campaign with a 1 0 loss away at Newcastle East End.
