LEAGUE champions Bardon Mill Bowes Lyons were denied a shot at the quadruple when they lost to Hexham Phoenix in the Division One Knock-out Cup final.

Retaining the trophy from last year, Phoenix again won the cup after winning a penalty shoot-out 4-3.

Dan Kirkup’s goal looked set to secure another trophy for Mill, but Lewis Loughhead took the tie to pens with a late leveller.

Owen Murtough was named man of the match for Hexham, with Sam Austin earning Mill’s equivalent.

Goals from man of the match Michael Gilroy and Matthew Fothergill sent Mickley Social Club into the final of the Craig McDonald Memorial Trophy.

They defeated Wylam Black Bull 2-1, who had man of the match Matthew Hopkins replying.

Riding Mill’s pursuit of the Division Two trophy was boosted as leading marksman Dale Dodds hit five in an 11-0 demolition of Rose and Crown Bellingham.

Owen Graham hit three, Dale Graham two and Paul Britten one. Phil Robinson was named man of the match, with Ryan Gardner starring for Bellingham.

Ryton Michelangelo’s missed out on a top two spot as they were held to a 1-1 draw with Ponteland Village.

Jordan Martlew got their goal and Michael Lowery was man of the match. Chris Gibb registered and Abtin Zafarani starred for Ponteland.

Goals from man of the match Mark Simpson and Jack Henderson saw Crawcrook Social Club to a 2-1 victory over Hexham Hearts in the R&R Hands Trophy.

Owen Hogg netted and Joe Shepherd was man of the match for Hearts.
