CHRIS Paisley will tee-off in Malaysia on Thursday to begin his latest adventure on the increasingly global European Tour.

The Stocksfield Golfer will play alongside Malcolm Kokocinski and Rattanon Wannasrichan at 2pm (GMT).

The world number 143 goes into the tournament in good form, following his top-10 finish at the Oman Open in Asia at the beginning of March. Paisley was ninth at the Al Mouj Golf venue, with four steady rounds of 71, 72, 69 and 72, giving him a total of four-under par.

He also made the halfway cut and finished a respectable 48th at this month’s Qatar Masters. The 32-year-old will be up against a strong field in Asia, with experienced touring pros Oliver Fisher, David Howell, and Lee Slattery all taking part.

Golfing legend Ernie Els will be looking to roll back the years with a top performance, while last year’s winning Ryder Cup captain Thomas Bjorn will also be among the long list of contenders at the event.

Edoardo Molinari, the brother of last year’s Open Champion, and Ryder Cup hero Francesco, will also have his eyes on the title.

Rory McIlroy, who won the Players Championship at Sawgrass in fine style on Sunday, will not be involved. He is scheduled to play in the WGC Dell Matchplay on March 27.
