A TEAM of runners from the district were successful at a long-distance event in Durham at the weekend.
Seven members of the Jog on the Tyne group lined-up in Runners of the Lost Ark, a 3.28-mile trail loop from Durham Amateur Rowing Club, along the river and back via a stretch of farmland.
Competitors ran the continuous loops, with two of the Jog on the Tyne group clocking up half marathon distances, and three achieving 16 miles.
Rachel Wyse and Fiona Belgian managed to reach remarkable distances of 50km, and were the joint first females over the line, and joint second overall, with one male runner finishing ahead of them. The other runners were Claire Knowles, Deborah Williams, Gill Hindle, Hannah Swann, and Jo Storey.
