WYLAM Rockettes U12 Eagles got the better of Ponteland United in the Northumberland Girls League, with hat-tricks from Rose Rikkerink and Evie Dando, and a further goal from Emily Dodgeon.
Wylam Rockettes U14 went down 1-0 at home to title contenders Swalwell Swifts. The Rockettes’ Molly Pigg hit the crossbar in the first half. But after the break, Swalwell forced Rockettes’ keeper and girl of the game Katie Smith to make two excellent saves.
Wylam looked as if they would pick up a point for their battling performance, but Swalwell scored from a late free kick to win.
Wylam Rockettes U16 played their Northumberland FA Cup quarter-final away against New Fordley. After an excellent first half Wylam faded, eventually losing 5-1. Girl of the Game Josie Fenwick scored for Wylam.
An under-strength Wylam Rockettes U18 United put on a superb team performance to win 2-0 away to Cullercoats, with Charlotte Murray scoring a goal in each half.
Allendale Town U15 hosted Ponteland in the Pin Point League, with Archie White scoring twice during a close game. Defender Jay Jay Mackay was man of the match as top-of-the-table Ponteland took the points.
