PONTELAND Blacks maintained their 100 per cent record with a spellbinding win at Rutherford Juniors on Saturday.

An emphatic win for the U14 team saw four different players get on the scoresheet. Joseph Nicholson scored a hat-trick, Ben Kershaw two, Rhys Johnson two, and Tom Scougall one. Man of the match was awarded to Joseph Clark.

Another impressive performance from Ponteland Munich saw them beat Wallsend BC Greens 5-2 on Sunday. Munich’s good run looked in jeopardy as the visitors were two up in the first 15 minutes. But strikes from Joseph Nicholson and Ben Kershaw levelled it at half time. The pair added a goal each in the second half before a Charlie Rigg penalty save and a Omar Tumia header finished the contest.

Allendale lost in a close game away at Killingworth Young Peoples Club on Saturday in the Pin Point Junior league. Jay Jay Mackay was man of the match in a game, which was affected by high winds.
