HALTWHISTLE Jubilee have booked their place in the Northumberland FA Minor Cup semi-finals for a second successive year.
Last year’s finalists enjoyed a superb away win over Bedlington FC Seniors in windy conditions last Saturday.
Haltwhistle took the lead from a set piece. Greg Irwin’s free kick was saved, but Kieran Robley picked up the rebound, and pulled the ball back for Jack Barker to score.
A Bedlington equaliser followed, but Irwin responded with an excellent low finish to restore the visitors’ lead.
Shortley afterwards, a header from Robley put the Jubes 3-1 up.
Bedlington reduced the deficit to 3-2 early in the second half, but Haltwhistle held out to progress in the competition.
Haltwhistle will return to Tyneside Amateur League action on Saturday, away to Wallsend Boys Club Senior Development.
Prudhoe YC Seniors slipped out of the competition after a 2-1 defeat away to Blyth Town. On Saturday, they travel to Blyth Spartans reserves in Northern Alliance Division One.
In Northern Alliance Division One, eighth-placed Hexham lost 1-0 away at Forest Hall, who are one place behind Hexham in the league table. They will play host to Gosforth Bohemians on Saturday.
