TYNEDALE Ladies faced a stern test when they took on a strong North Shields side in the Northumberland A Hockey League.
Relentless North Shields attacks in the first half saw them go into half time 1-0 down.
But Tynedale were more settled after the interval, and launched a spirited second half comeback.
Goals from Sarah Martindale and Vicky Foster, and a player of the match performance from goalkeeper Nicky Baguley, earned them a memorable win, and saw them named team of the week.
Prudhoe's Callum Beeckmans has made giant strides since stepping up from kickboxing to Mixed Martial Arts (MMA).
The teenager was crowned WKO Ringsports English Champion after an outstanding performance last Saturday. Callum was named star of the week.
There was also a special mention for the youngters from the district who braved snowy conditions to compete in the Northern Schools' Inter-County Cross Country, in South Shields.
