FORMER Tynedale Panther Juliet Short was in the Ireland team which lost to England in the Women's Six Nations.
The ex-pupil of Hexham's Queen Elizabeth High School was in the starting XV for Friday's match, which England won 51-7.
The number eight made her international debut last November after overcoming a serious spine injury.
A former Newcastle Falcons player, Short now represents Irish side Leinster. Her father John formerly played rugby for Northumberland.
Ireland Women's next Six Nations game is against Scotland Women on Friday night.
