THE U15 derby match between Allendale Town and Hexham was a close encounter.

The two local sides locked horns in the Pin Point Junior League on Sunday.

Hexham took the points with star man Matthew Nesti and Lloyd Spencer scoring the goals in a 2-0 victory.

Allendale keeper Ellis Bradley was in tremendous form, diving to his left to save a penalty from saving a penalty from Nesti in the first half when the score was 1-0.

Allendale had numerous chances to get something from the match with Dan Priestley going close with two headers, with one hitting the crossbar.

Forward Archie White had two good shots saved by the impressive Conor Garret Jowsey in the Hexham goal. Ronan Humphrey was Allendale’s man of the match with an energetic display.

Allendale coach Lee Alderson said the game was a great advert for junior football.
