TYNEDALE Rugby Club has announced that its senior coaching structure will remain unchanged next season.

Ben Woods will continue in his role as director of rugby, supported by assistant coaches Matt Fieldhouse and Tom Wilkinson.

The Corbridge-based club said the news will bring increased stability, as it looks ahead to the future.

A club statement read: "Tynedale is very pleased that they have agreed to continue in their current roles, and it is seen as an early statement of intent and stability for next season.

"The coaches are already planning and putting the building blocks in place to continue the momentum currently enjoyed by the senior teams.

"Their remit not only extends to coaching but also working with our expert physios and team management on the welfare and workload of current players, as well as planning the development and integration of both new and young personnel into the senior squad."

Ben Woods said: "I am delighted to be carrying on the role for the 2019/20 season.

"I've thoroughly enjoyed my time here so far and have found Tynedale to be a fantastic club with great support and with so many people doing great work on and off the pitch behind the scenes across all age groups.

"On the coaching front working alongside Matt Fieldhouse, Tom Wilkinson with the 1st XV as well as with Simon Allan, Colin Scullion and Stu Johnson during the week has been very enjoyable and they have helped foster the club ethos across all the senior squad.

"We clearly had a challenging start to the season with injuries and some tough fixtures but stuck together as a squad and have put in some very good performances recently.

"The season is far from over and hopefully finalising the coaching structure for next season will help us maintain the levels of performance for the rest of this season and into next."
