A DOUBLE from Lee Farmer moved Mickley Social Club out of the Division One relegation zone.

His two goals earned a slender 2-1 victory over Haltwhistle Railway, seeing the hosts, best served by Matty Fothergill, move to nine points for the season and ahead of Barrasford.

The defeat for Haltwhistle was a blow for the visitors who had Andrew Grimshaw on target and Jack Barker starring.

Haydon Bridge Anchor remain rooted to the bottom as fellow strugglers Crawcrook Fox and Hounds moved away from the drop zone courtesy of a 3-1 triumph.

Scott Sinclair scored both goals for Stamfordham, while Marcus Sewell was man of the match.

Division One leaders were thankful for a double from man of the match Rob Hayes as they came from behind to defeat Division Two side Riding Mill in the quarter-finals of the President's Cup. Riding Mill's star man Dale Dodds had given them the lead.

Another shock seemed on the cards when Rose and Crown Bellingham, also of Division Two, went 2-0 in front of Barrasford from the league above courtesy of goals from Andy Hall and Ryan Gardner. However, a double from Marc Nixon and strikes from Will Forsyth, Gary Nixon and Jonny Herdman secured a 5-2 victory for Barra.

Gary Pigg was named their star man, with James Walby earning Bellingham's equivalent.

Man of the match Luke Parkinson, Tom Hacking and Kurtis Harvey all hit hat-tricks as Hexham Phoenix defeated Wylam Black Bull 11-2. Callum Duncan and Lewis Loughhead also got on the scoresheet, while Max Tordoff and Sam Beedle scored and Adam Pogson was man of the match for Wylam.
