FIVE youngsters from Corbridge Cricket Club have been called up by Northern Jets.

Ellie Tiffin, Katie Chomse, Harriet Robson, and Lizzie Scott, have all earned a place in the 15-player squad for the 2019 season, while Ciara Boaden will be involved with the Jets’ development squad.

As well as playing matches, the youngsters will receive coaching as part of the set-up, based at Durham County Cricket Club, which is now recognised as an England Cricket Board (ECB) regional development centre.

Head coach James Lowe said: “It’s our third year now and will be our first as a regional development centre. To gain such status is a huge achievement and we’re hugely thankful to the club for their ongoing and continued support for the programme.”

Ellie Tiffin plays for the Corbridge Angels senior women’s team, and also for Matfen Hall, in the West Tyne League.
