CORBRIDGE Cricket Club acknowledged an outstanding 2018 at its annual end of year presentation evening.

Corey Dover won the president’s award for his pair of five-wicket hauls for the first XI in the Northumberland and Tyneside Cricket League - against Ashington and Berwick respectively.

He also received the Gus Genner award for most promising junior, and the captain’s award for his overall contribution to the first team throughout the season.

Ciara Boaden won the Jack Davidson award for her match winning performance against Crook in the U13 Cup, when she scored 129 not out from just 64 balls. Her impressive innings included 18 fours, and four sixes.

Ciara also received U13 awards for player of the season, and batting performance, as well as the president’s award and medal for being a member of the league-winning senior Corbridge Angels team.

The presentation also included a special award for Dan Cragie, for his involvement in junior cricket, and his contribution to the successful All Stars junior development programme at Corbridge Cricket Club.

It came just weeks after Dan, who manages and coaches Corbridge’s U11 and U13 sides, won young volunteer of the year at the Sport Tynedale Awards on December 9.
